Subject: Visit Denmark and discuss medical ethics .
Title: Invitation to Ethical Student Conference 2001.
You are hereby invited to the 5th annual Ethical Student Conference 2001.
The conference is held in lovely surroundings in Aarhus, Denmark from July
29 to August 4 as a pre-school to General Assembly for IFMSA. We offer an
opportunity to discuss medical ethics in an international forum consisting
of medical students and Ph.D.s (4 points accredited). The lectures will be
 given in English by highly recognized ethicists, philosophers, physicians,
 anthropologists and sociologists from different parts of the world. The
 conference provides a basic introduction to medical ethics as well as a more
 profound discussion of specific topics, appealing to beginners as well as
 students with more experience in medical ethics. Topics to be discussed this
 year are:

Ethics and rights in modern medicine
Ethics and humor - does humour have healing power?
Ethics  and genetics - the right to the code of life?
Ethics and death- the right to a worthy death?

Besides offering unique discussions and teaching we also offer an exciting
social and cultural program. We will be sailing on beautiful lakes in a boat
with a jazz-band, pub-crawling, visiting museums and tourists sites of
Denmark, having a barbecue and a gallaparty. This conference is
organized on a voluntary basis by 20 medical students from Aarhus, Denmark.
We are a non-profit organization under the international medical
 organization, IFMSA. The economy of the conference is based on fundraising.
 We have raised half of the actual costs in order to pay for the expenses,
 thus the conference fee is only 2100 Danish kroners. This includes lectures,
 social program, entrance fees, all meals, and accommodation for the full
 conference.
