Well, the voting attraction of the-ex-communists seems to signal, that there
were numerous features even in the deformed, totalitarian socialism
that was recorded by social memory as prefereble, just imagine, if
it were the real thing!

Usual as ever, when you don't have anything to argue with, Joe, you
decide
to hit below the belt. But this is your style of "discussion". This is
sad,
but not surprising.

Dear Colleagues,

One of the projects of the New York Roundtable is to ask Mayor Giuliani to
rename a section of 2nd Avenue in New York: "Freedomfighters' Avenue."

A task force is being formed to work towards that goal. We would like that
task force to consist of 2nd generation Hungarians. For that reason, I would
like to receive the addresses of young Hungarian-Americans (from the
tri-state area), who might be interested, so that I could invite them to the
next meeting of the Roundtable.

Best regards: Bela Liptak

As usual I agree with you but the fact is that the "lady in
question" must have been in Canada at least for five years because she was
eligible to vote. After five years I felt quite adjusted to my new
surroundings and I would say most people are. ESB

I posted the article because;
1)it had some new information on NATO expansion
2)it was the only article on NATO in Friday's Record
3)my previous quote on NATO expansion from the Record was well received
4)I knew it would upset you
5)that's what the anti-American cadres were asked to do

And now you're accusing me of being a size queen. Is there no end to your

Is the United States ever going to pay its long overdue debt to the United

C'mon, Amos. Just say it. You think I'm a prick, don't you?

What does "Freedomfighters' Avenue" have to do with Hungary?

Just about anyone can describe themselves as "freedomfighters". The
Ayatollah Khomeini was a freedomfighter. He fought all his life for the
freedom to live in a strict Islamic state. The Duvalier's were
freedomfighters because they fought to rule Haiti the way they saw fit.
And on and on. All struggles are for freedom from, or freedom to. It has
nothing to do with Hungary or Hungarians, per se.

If a Hungarian context is needed, why not call it, "October 23 Avenue", or
"Hungarian Revolution Avenue"?
