Eleg regen volt mar...asszem 90 nyaran mentem haza egyszer vonattal.  Nem
Mongolian keresztul, hanem Mandzsurian - igy egy kicsit hosszabb (12 oraval)
az ut.  A taj valoban gyonyoru - megeri egyszer az idot (5 nap 6 ejszaka),
de oda-vissza...??  Az a gond, hogy hacsak nem oda-vissza csinalod, akkor a
repjegy+vonatjegy dragabb, mint egy retur repjegy.  A Moszkva-Budapest
szakasz sem lehet valami olcsosag manapsag.  En pld. egy olyat birnek
elkepzelni (ha nagyon sok idom lenne...), hgoy Bp-Moszkva-Peking
transzsziberia vagy - mandzsuria, aztan a kinai ut befejezte utan vagy
Tibeten keresztul Nepal/India es onnan visszakeveredni, vagy
Kina-Pakisztan-India (ha valaki ezt mar vegigjarta, irhatna rola - ismerek
nehany kalandozot, megprobalom oket is megkerni)...mondjuk konnyu igy HK
kenyelmebol mondani.  En speciel egy Tibet/Nepal uton almodozok mar miota.
A vonatozas nattyon jo volt, tenyleg gyonyoru a videk nyaron (is, telen
Guczo volt, akkor se rossz...) - a harmadik/negyedik nap fele azert mar nem
nagyon tudja az ember hogy mit kezdjen magaval...  Moszkva a legmelosabb
resze az egesznek, persze ha Mo felol jossz, es megvan a jegyed egybol
tovabb, akkor nem olyan zuros.  Moszkva igen draga tud lenni szallasilag,
bar mostanaban nem tudom, hogy mi a helyzet.  Mi annak idejen 110 rubelert
haza tudtunk repulni - ez mostanra valoszinuleg dollarra "varazsolodott."

Egy ismerosunk most turazik eppen Eszak-India/Nepal tajekan, ideznek tole
(bocsi, angolul van, de szerintem megeri...)  Ja, "meiyou banfa" - az valami
olyasmi, hogy "nincs megoldas."

The first month in India was just spectacular - I
couldn't imagine a better place to go after China - an
antidote to materialism, pressure and meiyou banfa.
The country is just so ancient, mystical, cultural and
it is  accessible - as even the rickshaw drivers speak
English. A great travel agent and a friend in Delhi
helped us to ensure that we made the best possible use
of our travel time which was very helpful as well -
and given the English books and guides available it
was easy to cover alot of ground and absorb a large
amount of information within the month.

Our trip mainly covered northern India - We spent a
few days in Delhi, 1 week up north in Dharmasala
(where the Dalai Lama lives), 10 days in Varanasi
(where the Hindu holy bathing in the Ganges is done)
and then on the road to the Taj Mahal and a bird
sanctuary, and then the last 10 days driving/training
across the former princely states of Rajahstan and
doing a camel safari.

Highlights included: a magical mystery tour and
personal introduction to at least half the religions
known to man (Jerusalem and Istanbul are definitely
next on my list of travel destinations), winding
alleys and medieval forts with cows and random
transportation everwhere, well preserved palaces and
the noble families that run them, being close to
nature everyday with great wildlife parks, and seeing
the dawn and sunset on more occasions than I can
remember in my life. By the time we left neither Leta
nor I wanted to go - we both are completely hooked and
want to return soon!

The simultaneous existence of modern and traditional
is just amazing...traditional dress and Internet,
Hollywood stars and ancient burials, the most bizarre
place being Varanasi (the Hindu Jerusalem) where a
Hare Krishna merchant proudly displays his pictures
and letters from Goldie Hawn with him and her guru the
Blue Baba. Apparently she does beautiful yoga.
Meanwhile people are performing ancient Hindu
cremation rites next door. Now I can see why the
Beatles and the hippees were so big on this place.
